It is one of the most important and valuable in the city as it was a gift from the Spanish in honor to the Centenary of the May Revolution. It is one of the most moving gifts that a country can give to another and the striking fact is that it was gifted by Spain to the country that became independent of it. It also shows the indestructible bond that links these two countries. The monument has figures symbolizing Work, La Pampa, El Chaco, La Plata River and on its summit a statue of The Republic. It also has written a part of the Preamble of the Argentine Constitution and emotinal dedications from Spain to the people of Buenos Aires.
Located at Libertador Av. and Sarmiento, at the Palermo Woods, it was finally inaugurated, after many complications and delays, on May 25, 1927.
