What to do in Buenos Aires Today

Post May 26, 2009 - Classified What to do in Buenos Aires Today

After the rains, temperatures finally dropped in Buenos Aires. Today, the minimum is 10°C and the maximum is 16°C and the sky is partly cloudy.

A good suggestion is to visit the neighborhood of San Isidro, one of the oldest and certainly one of the most elegant, with old and huge houses with beautiful architecture, cobbled streets, old and dense trees and viewpoints with wonderful views to the river.

You can start your tour at Mitre Square, which has a fabulous and colorful flower clock, the first one built in South America. Facing the Plaza you will see historic buildings as the City Council of San Isidro and the extraordinary Cathedral of San Isidro, which stands out for being one of the few that have a clock, for its towers and Gothic style.

You can also start the journey from the Rio de la Plata, that is, from the low San Isidro, take the glamorous Tren de la Costa and get off at San Isidro station where you will find a shopping mall with a food court, beautiful views to the river, entertainment for all ages, cinemas and green areas. Next to the mall is located the North Bank Local Ecological Reserve, home of around 200 bird species and over 300 species of trees, plants and flowers.

One option for the evening is to choose a dinner-show at one of the pretigious Tango houses in the City, which provide great spectacles and national and international cuisine. Call (5411) 4326-6076 and Rochester Hotel will offer you its services and provide you information on the best shows and best Tango houses, ask for Paula Benedetti and make your reservations.
