Fiesta del Lago 2013

The “Fiesta del Lago 2013” (The Lake Party) will be held as every February in El Calafate City. This is considered the most important celebration in the region and it engages lots of different activities, including a nautical rally from Comandante Luis Piedra Buena to the Argentine Lake. The interesting part of this ninth nautical rally is that for the first time in history it will be departing from Puerto Santa Cruz, in order to have the same route sailed by Francisco Pascasio Moreno.

Likewise, the Taming Festival (an enjoyable and traditional activity for all ages), a triathlon, music shows and a cultural street will be part of this important event.

Canyoning in Bariloche, a new trend in adventure tourism

  canyoninng1.png

The new trend in San Carlos de Bariloche city is “canyoning”, also known as canyoneering and in Spanish “barranquismo” and “torrentismo”. It is a sport that combines different outdoor activities such as trekking, swimming and climbing.

Canoyning includes descending rocky formations where turbulent waters have to be crossed, diving in large natural pools, using natural diving boards to get to deep swimming holes and rappelling in numerous drops, sculpted walls and waterfalls.

The most common places to practice canyoning are El Bolson, El Cravion, Manso River, Casa de Piedra Stream and de la Virgen Stream between some others.  This is an amazing experience in terms of contact with nature.

Buenos Aires nightlife – Palermo

Thanks to the great range of activities available and the “never ending style” of Buenos Aires nightlife, the city is well known –worldwide- as the “city that never sleeps”.

Palermo is one of the neighborhoods concentrating most of BA’s nightlife and, indeed, has recently become the most modern and vibrant area of the city when it comes to going out. Las Cañitas, Palermo Soho and Palermo Hollywood, all of which are part of Palermo, are full of an array of fancy and diverse style coffee shops, night clubs and restaurants for every taste, whim and budget.

From Thursdays to Saturdays the area becomes more crowded. Here, a list of the most popular places:

Sullivan’s (Irish pub)

Mundo Bizarro (features the best cocktails)

Bangalore (camp-style pub)

Podestá (great for drinks)

Antares (Brewery)

El Carnal (bar with a lovely terrace)

Miloca Bar (varied food restaurant)

Kika Club (night club and bar)

Honduras Bar (night club)

Niceto Vega (bar)

Niceto Club (night club and concerts)

Prologo (bar and coffee shop)

“Blind Theatre” plays in Buenos Aires

 What to do today?

Many are theatre plays now being offered in downtown Buenos Aires but none of them have been as original and inspiring as the “blind” ones.

These plays are base on feeling what is real and the audience is immersed in a place with no lightning, trying to perceive the events happening around them from another perspective. These are not plays for blind people or played by blind people; they are for all of us and they allow us to feel the world in a different way giving us the opportunity to get to know the world beyond our sight.
